The ASA is delighted to partner with Macra Agricultural Skillnet and the Food Industry Training Unit in University College Cork to offer a five-day bespoke programme for Future Agri leaders.

This programme aims to bolster the growth of present and upcoming leaders in the Irish food industry. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical exercises and real-world applications, the programme is designed to assist individuals in their leadership roles, empowering them to make a positive impact on their teams and organisation.

Programme Dates:

  • Day 1: Personal Development & Leadership - 12th February 2025 - location: UCC
  • Day 2: Project Management - 11th March 2025 - location: Horse and Jockey, Tipperary.
  • Day 3: Constructive & Inclusive Communication - 8th April 2025 - location TBC
  • Day 4: Finance for Non-Financial Managers - 14th May 2025 - IMI, Dublin
  • Day 5: Performance Management - 27th May 2025 - location UCC

Programme Modules:

Day 1: Personal Development and Leadership: Day 1 of the programme encompasses Personal Development and Leadership, empowering individuals to take ownership of their personal and professional growth, setting and achieving meaningful goals as emerging leaders. Exploring self-management, workplace well-being, empathy and resilience. It aims to equip participants with an understanding of leadership and conducting situational analysis and organisational culture.

Day 2: Project Management: On Day 2, participants will participant in Project Management. It is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in managing projects effectively. Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical applications, this training programme aims to empower individuals to lead and contribute to the success of projects within their professional environments.

Day 3: Constructive & Inclusive Communication: Day 3 of the programme encompasses Constructive and Inclusive Communication which is tailored to enhance participants’ communication skills within diverse professional contexts. This programme aims to empower individuals to engage in constructive and inclusive communication that positively influences workplace dynamics and relationships.

Day 4: Finance for Non-Financial Managers: On Day 4, participants will engage Finance for Non-financial Managers. The module is designed to enhance participants’ understanding and proficiency in financial planning and projection. Participants will delve into essential concepts such as budget creation, financial forecasting techniques, and the effective utilisation of financial data for strategic decision-making.

Day 5: Performance Management: On the concluding day of the programme, the spotlight shifts to Performance Management, with a strong emphasis on optimising both individual and team performance. Participants are provided with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of performance management, ensuring they are well-prepared to lead teams towards sustained excellence.

ASA Conference 2024

The theme for this year’s Conference is ‘Trading with the global consumer’ and addresses the current challenges facing our industry whilst also discussing the solutions. We look forward to hosting leading figures from both the Irish and international agri food industry to share their insights and solutions for the sector whilst trading with the global consumer.
